CLEAN ENERGY XXI. Iberdrola and the BNP Paribas Group want to revolutionize the rental market in Spain and reinforce the ambition of their sustainable mobility strategy in Spain. For this, the companies have reached an agreement that includes a new solution, called All Inclusive, aimed at individuals and companies, which integrates in a single offer the renting of the electric vehicle through Arval, the installation of the charging point financed by BNP Paribas Leasing Solutions and energy consumption -in the home and on public roads- for the contracted km supplied by Iberdrola. In this way, it responds to one of the segments with the greatest growth potential in the coming years: the electrification of fleets associated with the distribution of online commerce. The collaboration between the companies will be extended to other areas and will allow the energy company to install charging infrastructure in various offices of the BNP Paribas Group in Spain.
In this way, the clients and employees of the financial institution will be able to recharge their electric vehicles with 100% green energy, from clean generation sources, with guarantee certificates of renewable origin (GdOs). A report collected by the specialized publication Energía Limpia XXI highlights that Iberdrola and BNP Paribas Real Estate will promote charging points among the main real estate operators and shopping centers. The collaboration also includes the design and launch of financing solutions by BNP Paribas, Through its leasing and consumer loan subsidiaries, for Iberdrola clients in Spain and other European countries where BNP Paribas and the energy company operate with sustainable mobility solutions (Smart Mobility) and self-consumption (Smart Solar), as is the case from Portugal, Italy and France. “The agreement shows the ambition of both groups to continue promoting the electrification of transport and confirms the need to continue collaborating with all agents in the sector to respond to the challenges of mobility based on clean energy and without CO2 emissions. With BNP Paribas, we have also managed to design a comprehensive and unique proposal, which responds to the needs of one of the fastest growing segments in the field of transport electrification, such as fleets destined for the last-mile distribution of purchases online ”, explains Raquel Blanco, Iberdrola’s global director of Smart Mobility.
Alberto Sarricolea, Head of Corporate Banking at BNP Paribas in Spain, points out that “for the Group this agreement means putting many of our capacities (renting, leasing, real estate and consumer credit services) at the service of a client with whom we maintain a close relationship, both in Spain and internationally ”. In addition, this agreement “fits perfectly with BNP Paribas ambitions in terms of sustainability,” .
