It allows the development of that priority that we have, which is to continue developing renewable sources in our country, since it will allow absorbing variations in the wind, solar energy and thus be able to continue changing the energy matrix ”, explained Minister Salvador Mansell .

Its construction is expected to be completed in September 2021 and its investment is US $ 700 million, it is also a sign of the confidence of foreign investors in the management of the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity. “It is a sign of our confidence in the country of Nicaragua and in the region, and we are going to continue to build this plant and the terminal; we hope it will be the first of many things that we will do in Nicaragua ”, highlighted Mr. Edens.

Mansell added that at the end of 2019 there was a generation matrix with 70% based on renewable sources and as of today, with the contributions of solar, wind, hydroelectric, geothermal, biomass generation, this percentage is close to 80 %.
