Parana has started a new success story through the use of animal manure to produce energy, fertilizers and other eco friendly resources.
ENERGIA LIMPIA XXI. Parana, Brazil continues making history in the use of eco friendly technologies. This week, the first large-scale hybrid biogas and photovoltaic power plant in the country was inaugurated in Ouro Verde do Oeste. Governor Carlos Massa Ratinho Junior participated in the inauguration and stated that this new project is in line with the vision or promoting resilient and eco friendly agriculture.
The project has become a real model of sustainable development. The EnerDinBo venture on the one hand ensures the correct disposal of pig manure and, on the other hand, enables the distribution of energy to the pig farmers cooperating with the company.. A report carried by Energía Limpia XXI states that the R $ 12 million investment has the capacity to process 700 tons of swine manure per day, while on the other hand, the photovoltaic plant, which is in the process of being installed, will have an installed capacity of 500 kilowatt-hours by January. It is worth noting that the system includes 40 pig farmers. The energy generated will be used to offset energy consumption in the farms of the group’s companies.
Ratinho Junior pointed out that the initiative further reinforces the quality of agriculture in the State. “It is a green seal for pig farming in Paraná, which is already very strong, and further strengthens Paraná’s vocation for food production combined with environmental preservation,” he said.
The Secretary of Agriculture and Supply, Norberto Ortigara, noted that Paraná has great potential that has not been harnessed in terms of biogas generation and production of eco friendly fertilizers, highlighting that this project is opening the doors for a new success story.
